The Head: People Relations is responsible for leading people operations, employee relations and talent management practices across RMA, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s People strategy and purpose-driven culture.
The role strengthens workforce stability, leadership effectiveness and employee engagement by embedding fair, transparent and values-aligned people practices. Through structured oversight of employee relations, workforce planning and operational HR delivery, the role enables a high-performing and accountable workplace that supports business performance and long-term sustainability.
Operationally, the role ensures disciplined and compliant people operations and employee relations delivery. Strategically, it strengthens workforce capability, engagement and alignment to RMA’s long-term organisational objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
People Operations & Employee Relations Management
- Lead and oversee people operations to ensure efficient and compliant HR delivery
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters
- Ensure fair, consistent and legally aligned ER practices
- Strengthen transparency, accountability and ethical people governance.
Talent Acquisition Strategy & Workforce Planning
- Oversee talent acquisition practices aligned to workforce strategy
- Support workforce planning and capacity alignment with business priorities
- Ensure recruitment processes attract and retain high-performing talent
- Partner with HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to align hiring to strategic needs.
Leadership & People Development
- Support leadership capability through coaching and people advisory
- Embed performance and development conversations across teams
- Align leadership behaviours with RMA’s culture and values ▪ Strengthen succession and talent growth practices.
HR Strategy & Operational Excellence
- Implement People strategy initiatives across operations
- Strengthen HR process efficiency and service standards
- Drive continuous improvement across people operations
- Ensure alignment between HR practices and business objectives.
Employee Engagement & Well-being
- Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and retention
- Promote a positive and supportive employee experience
- Partner with leaders to address cultural and engagement risks
- Support well-being initiatives aligned to RMA’s values.

Requirements:
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) advantageous
- 5+ years’ experience in HR, employee relations or talent management
- Experience leading HR operations and employee relations teams
- Strong experience in conflict resolution, coaching and engagement initiatives
- Knowledge of HR operations and employee relations frameworks
- Understanding of South African labour legislation and compliance standards
- Talent management and workforce planning principles
- Coaching and advisory capability
- Conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong communication and leadership capability
- Ability to align People practices with organisational strategy.
