Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented candidate to join their team in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting geological exploration, mapping, sampling, quality control and reporting functions within a mining environment.

GEOLOGIST
Griekwastad / Postmasburg area

Northern Cape

Requirements:

-        Master’s or Honours degree in Geology / Geo-science.

-        Relevant Quality, ISO or local body certification will be advantageous.

-        Relevant courses, including First Aid, Safety or related training, will be advantageous.

-        5–8 years’ experience in Geology and Quality.

-        Minimum of 2 years’ Greenfield Exploration experience is essential.

-        Experience in Open Pit Mining is essential.

-        Experience with Quality Control measures in different beneficiation processes, particularly Iron Ore, is essential.

-        Exploration experience is essential.

-        Knowledge and working experience with SURPAC and other mining and geology-related software.

-        Strong knowledge of geological mapping, sample collection and related procedures.

-        Good understanding of QAQC and MIS reporting.

-        Computer literate in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

-        Strong communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities:

-        Conduct geological mapping, exploration and field investigations.

-        Manage sample collection processes and ensure correct procedures are followed.

-        Support Greenfield Exploration activities and reporting.

-        Assist with Open Pit Mining geological functions.

-        Monitor and apply Quality Control measures during beneficiation processes, particularly relating to Iron Ore.

-        Ensure QAQC standards and procedures are implemented and maintained.

-        Use SURPAC and other mining and geology-related software for geological interpretation and reporting.

-        Prepare and maintain accurate geological records, reports and MIS information.

-        Work closely with mining, quality and operational teams to support effective decision-making.

-        Ensure compliance with relevant quality, safety and operational standards.
