ACCOUNTANT

POSTMASBURG AREA

Requirements:

-        Bachelor’s degree or Honours degree in Accounting / Finance.

-        SAICA accreditation with Part 1 qualification will be advantageous.

-        Pastel / SAGE and VIP Payroll / SAGE certificate will be advantageous.

-        Minimum of 3 years’ related experience in a finance or accounting role.

-        Previous experience within a mining, manufacturing or retail environment will be advantageous.

-        Experience with IFRS and SARS regulations will be advantageous.

-        Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, general ledger management and monthly reconciliations.

-        Strong computer literacy in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

-        Excellent communication skills.

-        High attention to detail, accuracy and strong analytical ability.

Responsibilities:

-        Manage general ledgers and perform monthly reconciliations.

-        Conduct financial analysis and provide meaningful insights to management.

-        Maintain the fixed asset register.

-        Ensure statutory compliance, including VAT, EMP201 / EMP501, Income Tax return filing and attending to SARS requirements.

-        Manage cash flow planning and payment loading.

-        Handle vendor management, including vendor reconciliations, invoice handling and capturing.

-        Assist with payroll handling.

-        Assist with statutory and internal audit processes.

-        Manage month-end closure processes.

-        Draft management accounts, costing reports and MIS reports.

-        Prepare, review and analyse financial statements.

-        Assist with budget planning, forecasting and budgetary control.

-        Compile and submit budgets and forecasts to senior management for review.

-        Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations and procurement.
