ROLE OVERVIEW

An opportunity exists for three experienced Diesel Mechanics to join a growing exploration drilling operation based in Secunda. The successful candidates will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and reliability of diesel-powered drill rigs and associated heavy-duty support equipment.

This role suits a hands-on, problem-solving mechanic who thrives in field-based environments, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and can operate independently under operational pressure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Service, repair, and maintain diesel-powered exploration drill rigs.
• Maintain and repair associated support equipment including LDVs, trucks, and slurry pumps.
• Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and machine inspections.
• Respond to breakdowns on-site and ensure rapid resolution.
• Manage ordering and stock control of maintenance and breakdown spares.
• Complete accurate job cards, maintenance logs, and service reports.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and operational procedures at all times.
• Work structured hours: Monday–Friday (06:00–16:00), Saturdays (06:00–13:00).
