The Senior Industrial Engineering Consultant provides advanced technical and analytical consulting services to clients within the mining and capital-intensive industries. The role applies industrial engineering methodologies such as simulation modelling, financial modelling, optimisation, and systems thinking to solve complex operational and strategic challenges.

The consultant works in a multidisciplinary environment, supporting mining, geology, metallurgy, and project teams to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions. The role also involves client engagement, workshop facilitation, and technical leadership on consulting projects.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver industrial engineering consulting solutions across mining and capital projects
Apply simulation, optimisation, and financial modelling techniques to support decision-making
Execute project deliverables under the guidance of senior leadership
Lead client engagements and ensure technical excellence in project execution
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mining, geology, metallurgy, project teams)
Develop and apply technical models, templates, and analytical tools
Prepare and compile technical reports and project deliverables
Support operational and strategic improvement initiatives for clients
Travel to client sites locally and internationally as required
Contribute to continuous improvement of consulting methodologies and tools
Maintain high professional and technical standards in all deliverables

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements

BEng / BTech in Industrial and Systems Engineering
5+ years’ experience in mining-related projects
2+ years’ experience in consulting environments
Understanding of the mining value chain and capital project lifecycle
Experience in at least one industrial engineering discipline (e.g. simulation, optimisation, financial modelling)
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Good communication and report writing skills
Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Professional Engineering registration advantageous (not mandatory)
Alignment with consulting and client-focused work culture
