The Senior Mining Engineering Consultant is responsible for delivering technical mining solutions across a range of mining projects and commodities within both open-pit and underground mining environments. The role focuses on mine planning, optimisation, design, scheduling, operational support, and technical project execution while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and mining clients locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform technical mine planning and mining engineering tasks
Develop mining models using geological and operational data
Conduct mining studies including MWP, LOM, MTP, STP, Scoping, PFS, and BFS studies
Perform pit and stope optimisation, mine design, and mine scheduling
Conduct equipment selection, optimisation, and mine cost modelling
Support due diligence studies and technical mining audits
Assist with mining right and prospecting permit applications
Provide operational support, contractor management, and on-site planning
Conduct productivity improvement and operational readiness initiatives
Perform trade-off studies and mining options analysis
Lead technical mining projects and support multiple project deliverables
Prepare technical reports, CPRs, and financial modelling inputs
Facilitate workshops and support technical project management
Mentor and develop junior team members
Stay updated with mining engineering developments and industry best practices

Candidate Requirements

Requirements:

BEng Degree in Mining Engineering preferred
Relevant Mine Planning background will be considered
5–15 years’ mining engineering experience
Minimum 2 years’ consulting experience advantageous
Professional Engineering Registration advantageous but not mandatory
Experience across operational and project mining phases
Proficiency in mining software such as Surpac, Deswik, or MineRP
Strong mine planning, optimisation, and scheduling experience
Strong communication and client relationship management skills
Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel to client sites locally and internationally
