Bookkeeper to Trial Balance - KnysnaWe are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance level within a construction / project based environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for project costing, supplier and subcontractor accounts, intercompany transactions, reconciliations,, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities.Experience in the construction industry and working with project / job costing is highly advantageous.Key Responsibilities:Bookkeeping and Financial Administration:Maintain accurate accounting records up to Trial BalanceProcess daily financial transactions and journal entriespeform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliationsPrepare month-end schedules and assist with management accountsEnsure all financial records are maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standardsConstruction Project Costing:Allocate costs accurately to construction projects / jobsMonitor project expenses against budgetsTrack labour, materials subcontractor and plant costsAssist with project profitability reportingInvestigate costing variances and discrepanciesSupplier & CreditorsManage supplier accounts and reconciliationsProcess supplier invoices and paymentsLiaise with suppliers and subcontractors regarding queries and statementsEnsure timely and accurate payment processingMaintain proper supporting documentationIntercompany Transaction:Process and reconcile intercompany loans, charges and recoveriesMaintain accurate intercompany balances across related entitiesAssist with intergroup invoicing and reconciliationsResolve intercompany discrepancies timeouslyCompliance and Administration:Assist with audit preparation and supplorting schedulesEnsure VAT and statutory records are correctly maintainedSupport the finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasksMaintain confidentiality of financial information

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3-5 years bookkeeping experience to Trial Balance
• Previous experience in the construction or project-based industry preferred
• Strong understanding of project costing and supplier management
• Experience with intercompany accounting
• Proficient in accounting software & MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Advantageous:

• Experience with SAGE, Xero, Quickbooks, Buildsmart, or similar accounting systems
• Knowledge of VAT and payroll processes
• Experience working with multiple entities / Group companies
