AVI Field Marketing is a shared services business unit within AVI. Field Marketing focuses on sales and merchandising for the beverages, snacking, and cosmetic business units to provide greater focus and to achieve an improved execution at store level. Field Marketing has its very own National Call Centre to support the Field Marketing team.

An exciting opportunity exists for an HR Officer for our Field Marketing regional office in Durban (KZN). Individual must be self-managed and organized in order to assist and support management within the region through effective and efficient HR Administration and services. This includes coordinating HR activities related to the region's payroll, HR reporting, employee administration in an effort to ensure Field Marketing is well-positioned to offer comprehensive guidance and advice with regards to HR.

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

Attraction and retention

  • Drive end-to-end recruitment, including mass hiring and sourcing (Z1 employees)
  • Partner with line managers on interviews, hiring decisions, and approvals
  • Ensure full compliance with recruitment policies and procedures
  • Manage onboarding, inductions, and pre-employment checks
  • Maintain accurate SAP workflows and recruitment reporting
Training and development
  • Drive performance management, ensuring all employees have active IPAs and PDPs
  • Identify and coordinate regional training and development needs
  • Facilitate HR programmes, including new employee inductions
  • Partner with line management to monitor induction progress and compliance
  • Maintain accurate training records and support talent reviews and HR projects
Employee relations
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations and industrial relations matters
  • Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and disciplinary procedures
  • Manage grievances, disciplinary processes, and corrective programmes
  • Maintain accurate IR records and SAP updates, with trend analysis
  • Support CCMA case preparation and represent the company when required
HR administration
  • Manage HR payroll and leave administration on SAP for Z1 employees
  • Maintain accurate employee data, payroll updates, and garnishee orders
  • Compile and distribute monthly HR reports, scorecards, and compliance reports
  • Capture training records and maintain HR systems and documentation accuracy
  • Ensure secure personnel filing, confidentiality, and policy communication across operations
Benefits administration
  • Administer all employee benefits e. Provident Fund, Pension Fund, Medical Aid, IOD, Death, Funeral, Disability, Incapacity etc.
  • Conduct death benefit interviews with employee beneficiaries
Engagements
  • Ensure all employment packs (Take on forms, employment contracts ) are signed and maintained in the region at all levels.
  • Maintain employee personnel files within region (Originals to be keep in the region)
Terminations
  • Ensure all termination packs/ workflows are submitted to timeously
  • Submit all original Provident Fund withdrawal forms to Benefits
  • Conduct exit interviews

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: 

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a corporate environment in an HR Officer function 
  • Payroll administration experience
  • HR reporting experience
  • Recruitment and selection experience
  • SAP knowledge advantageous
Qualifications:
  • A completed tertiary qualification in HR / IR / or Industrial Psychology is required
Additional Requirements:
  • A valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, e.g. SAP
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and MS Outlook)
  • Knowledge of HR practices
  • Interviewing skills
  • Knowledge of labor legislation (i.e. Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labor Relations, Skills Development, South African Qualifications Authority)
  • Role involves travel within the region
