My client in the Independent Pharmacy Industry is looking for a Pharmacist Intern.
As a Pharmacist Intern, the individual will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience within a fast-paced and customer-focused retail pharmacy environment.
Under the close supervision of experienced and licensed Pharmacists, the Intern shall be actively involved in various aspects of the pharmacy’s operations, including dispensing medication, providing patient counselling, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
This role is designed to enhance clinical knowledge, develop professional communication skills, and build a strong foundation for a successful career in the Pharmacy industry.
The Internship shall run from January - December 2027.
The responsibilities shall include, but not to be treated as an exhaustive list, namely:
Processing scripts in either the Dispensary or Call centre departments (or both).
Assist in dispensing medication accurately and efficiently (within the Dispensary and Front shop departments).
Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer enquiries and/or concerns.
Learn to manage inventory and maintain stock levels.
Be present and participate in quarterly stock takes.
Conduct medication counselling sessions with customers (under supervision).
Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
Participate in ongoing training and development activities.
Keep track of requirements relating to online CPDs – to be submitted timeously by the Intern i.e., this is to be self-managed by the Intern.

This Internship shall only suit applicants who must fulfil an Internship as a prerequisite to doing Community Service after he/she has completed Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
Must have a completed Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognised institution.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Must be registered as a Pharmacist Intern with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Own reliable transport.
Must have Integrity.
Good language skills; fluent in English and at least one other official language.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Remain attentive in an often-busy environment.
Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Good time management skills.
Great computer skills and the ability to learn new skills quickly.
Adaptability.
Positive attitude.
