Duties and responsibilities:



Contribute to and drive the strategic objectives and performance targets of Execution Education

•    Exercise decision-making authority regarding revenue targets, program prioritisation, and delivery.

•    Introduce annual strategy scorecard with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

•    Revenue growth-analysing annual revenue targets and programme pipeline performance data.

•    Participate in institutional and Business School strategic planning processes.

•    Translate strategic goals into operational plans and measurable targets.

•    Align Executive Education initiatives with Business School strategic priorities.



Identify emerging trends and opportunities in Executive Education

•    Conduct competitor benchmarking and market research activities.

•    Analyse sector needs and industry demand through stakeholder engagement.

•    Review available data sources and reports to identify new programme opportunities.



Develop new programme initiatives and strategic partnerships

•    Engage potential partners to conceptualise programme offerings.

•    Coordinate meetings to define programme scope, timelines, and implementation requirements.

•    Facilitate development of programme proposals and implementation plans.

•    Ensure required agreements such as Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are concluded.



Oversee the development and delivery of Executive Education programmes

•    Quality oversight and exception management for coordinating programmes.

•    Delegate scheduling processes using approved programme management systems.

•    Allocate facilitators and resources to support programme delivery.

•    Monitor programme implementation timelines and readiness requirements.

•    Ensure programme delivery aligns with approved budgets and schedules.



Implement programme quality assurance measures

•    Coordinate moderation and review processes for programme content and assessments.

•    Monitor participant feedback and programme evaluation outcomes.

•    Implement corrective actions to address identified quality gaps.

•    Maintain programme documentation in accordance with institutional requirements.



Manage the quality of promotional and programme information

•    Review programme brochures, digital content, and marketing materials.

•    Ensure alignment with institutional branding and communication standards.

•    Approve programme information prior to publication.



Drive sales and new business development initiatives

•    Identify prospective corporate clients through professional networks and referral channels.

•    Maintain and monitor a pipeline of potential clients using approved customer relationship management systems.

•    Present programme offerings to organisational stakeholders.

•    Coordinate development of tailored programme proposals based on client requirements.



Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners and sponsors

•    Maintain regular communication with existing clients and partners.

•    Coordinate stakeholder engagement meetings and programme discussions.

•    Collaborate with internal units to support partnership initiatives.



Provide financial oversight and commercial decision-making for financial sustainability

•    Contribute to the preparation and management of programme budgets.

•    Review programme budget inputs submitted by programme coordinators.

•    Participate in budget planning and review meetings.

•    Maintain supporting financial documentation.



Monitor financial performance

•    Track expenditure against approved programme budgets.

•    Review programme revenue performance and financial reports.

•    Participate in financial review discussions to address performance gaps.



Manage expenditure and claims processes

•    Review supporting documentation for programme-related claims.

•    Ensure compliance with institutional financial policies and procedures.

•    Approve claims within delegated authority limits.



Manage operational activities of the Executive Education unit

•    Coordinate programme scheduling and delivery logistics.

•    Monitor operational readiness prior to programme commencement.

•    Ensure required resources and facilities are available.



Lead and manage staff performance and development

•    Allocate tasks and responsibilities to programme staff.

•    Provide guidance and support to staff members.

•    Monitor staff performance against operational expectations.



Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation requirements

•    Monitor programme activities against applicable policies and procedures.

•    Maintain compliance documentation and records.

•    Coordinate internal and external compliance reviews where required.



Prepare proposal and tender submissions for new programmes

•    Coordinate development of proposal documentation.

•    Compile required supporting documentation and cost information.

•    Submit proposals within specified deadlines.



Coordinate the development and approval of Short Learning Programmes (SLPs)

•    Guide internal and external partners through the SLP development process.

•    Review SLP submissions for completeness and compliance with institutional requirements.

•    Submit SLP applications to relevant governance structures for approval.



Inherent requirements:

•    Honours degree /Postgraduate Diploma/Professional Bachelor’s degree on NQF Level 8 in Business Management, Commerce, Higher Education Management, Education Management, or related field. 

•    A minimum of four (4) years’ relevant working experience in a Business School environment.

•    Proven experience in forming networks and linkages between higher education and industry.

•    Proven ability to develop and implement Business-to-Business (B2B) sales strategies.
