The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

The Managerial Leader II - Mineral Resources Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, technical integrity, and operational management of all geology, mineral resource, exploration, grade control, and geological support functions for a large-scale underground mining operation with significant water inflow challenges. The role is accountable for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement of geological interpretation, drilling programs, resource models, grade control systems, reconciliation processes, and geological risk management to support safe, optimized, and sustainable mine production. The incumbent leads multidisciplinary geology and resource teams responsible for exploration, infill drilling, underground production geology, orebody interpretation, geological mapping, hydrogeological investigations, resource estimation, database integrity, analytical laboratory management, and mine-to-mill reconciliation. The position plays a critical role in maximizing ore recovery, minimizing dilution and ore loss, improving confidence in mineral resource estimates, and supporting long-term mine planning and operational decision-making
You will have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Economic Geology, Mineral Resource Estimation, or related field is advantageous.
- Minimum 12–15 years’ experience in underground mining geology and mineral resource management leading multidisciplinary geology teams and contractors.
- Extensive experience in production geology, resource estimation, exploration and infill drilling, grade control, geological modelling, underground mapping, mine reconciliation, and geological database management.
- Experience in high water inflow underground mining environments and large-scale mechanized underground mining operations.
- Strong understanding of structurally complex orebodies and geological risk management
Technical Skills should include:
- Resource estimation and Geostatistics knowledge.
