Job Description
The ideal team player will be responsible for daily duties related to movement and control of final warehouse stock and administration. Perform activities with all warehouse resources including final product intake, picking, loading of vehicles and stock control in the Warehouse department section to be efficient and effective within a safe and clean environment.

- Grade 12
- Forklift license
- 2 years' experience in an agricultural setting
Duties and Responsibilities
Pre-operation start-up and shutdown:
- Ensure the House keeping is in order before the shift starts and at the shift.
- Ensure all scanners are operational in the Warehouse.
- Signing out and in of scanners as it is being used.
- Ensure daily documentation required is printed and available.
- Ensure handovers are done and communicate between shifts.
- Forklift check sheets are completed at the start of each shift.
- Controlling daily damages to a minimum.
- Minimize vehicle standing times to a minimum, loading vehicles in the shortest possible time.
- Perform a daily stock count at the start of each morning shift before any process commences.
- Perform a monthly stock count with the financial department
- Balance stock on hand with system.
- Reconcile deviations.
- Maintain safe minimum stock levels.
- Monitor stock on a FIFO (First in first out) principle.
- Coordinate stock transfer and handover between Packing and Warehouse departments.
- Verify the following when stock is received:
- Product type (Correct packaging vs Pallet label)
- Quantity received
- Quality: Quality of bagging, slings intact
- Pallet barcodes visible on all product
- Expiry dates
- Move pallets into the Warehouse storeroom.
- Move product into the correct allocated bin according to system.
- Scan pallet label into the applicable allocated bin.
- Scan the bin barcode in cases where the allocated system barcode is overwritten.
- Ensure that the Pallet is registered into the bin.
- Pick pallets from the correct applicable bin number according to the system.
- Verify that the correct pallet number is picked according to Pallet Barcode.
- Move picked pallets to the loading area, keeping pallets per load together.
- Pick all orders in advance – Sign off picking slip before load is loaded onto the vehicle.
- Coordinate the timely dispatch of completed orders from the warehouse to the customer.
- Load vehicles according to Sales orders: Verify the following: Right product, quantity and expiry dates.
- Inspect vehicle before loading final product onto the vehicle.
- Ensure all slings are wrapped before being loaded.
- Ensure integrity of the product before loading, verifying the following:
- Expiry date
- Product quality (Not hardened, not rotten or wet)
- Smell of product (No strong smells)
- Ensure that the correct product (no broken product bags) and quantities are loaded onto the correct vehicle.
- Load vehicles properly according to procedure considering: Axle, load integrity, load intact, load stable and secure to reach destination safely.
- Split loads: Load split loads ensuring loads are properly split between customers, considering sequence of deliveries.
- Coordinate the timely dispatch of completed orders from the warehouse to the customer.
- Load vehicles according to Sales orders: Verify the following: Right product, quantity and expiry dates.
- Inspect vehicle before loading final product onto the vehicle.
- Ensure all slings are wrapped before being loaded.
- Ensure integrity of the product before loading, verifying the following:
- Expiry date
- Product quality (Not hardened, not rotten or wet)
- Smell of product (No strong smells)
- Ensure that the correct product (no broken product bags) and quantities are loaded onto the correct vehicle.
- Load vehicles properly according to procedure considering: Axle, load integrity, load intact, load stable and secure to reach destination safely.
- Split loads: Load split loads ensuring loads are properly split between customers, considering sequence of deliveries.
- Ensure that inspections on Forklift are performed daily before the start of each shift.
- Operates Forklift within Standard operating and forklift procedures.
- Move product final product from various areas to designated areas as required.
- Drive forklift safely and be alert.
- HACCP functions.
- Report any deviations or out of specifications to Line manager.
- Routine fumigation according to Food safety guidelines.
- Maintain stock rotation standards.
- Monitor received quantities/weight against standard.
- Monitor final product according to quality and food safety compliance.
- Adhere to food safety policies and procedures.
- Perform all quality checks on final product upon receiving, during storing process and loading of vehicles.
- Protection of Final product against all elements.
- Completing daily control sheets and registers as applicable for the job function.
- Complete Warehouse documents daily.
- Daily Warehouse administration.
- Communication with internal customer regarding final product: Received, moved and loaded.
- Continuous liaising with internal departments to ensure quality product and services.
- Liaison with Line manager always.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is in place in allocated areas.
- Ensure that in-process cleaning is always adhered to in and around the Production department work area.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are adhered to.
- Clean working area continuously.
- No unnecessary items lying around.
- Stack feed bags neatly. No bags allowed on the floor.
- Re-pack broken bags immediately at all times.
- Identify and report any health and safety related issues.
- Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing.
- Operate according to company standards and safety guidelines.
- Stack pallets safely, ensuring the stock is neatly stacked.
- Ensure Forklift operators maintains safe driving in the work area.
Skills Required
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
- Ability to follow directions, instructions and work as a team member.
- Must be able to work shifts.
- Must be able to work overtime in order to meet business requirements.
