We are seeking a driven, hands-on, and results-oriented Factory Manager to lead our manufacturing and production operations within a fast-paced shopfitting and wood manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily factory operations, production planning, quality control, staff management, and operational efficiency to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent operational and problem-solving skills, and proven experience managing production within a manufacturing or shopfitting environment. A strong understanding of supply chain processes, cost control, production scheduling, and quality management will be highly advantageous.

Candidate Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all factory and production operations to ensure smooth daily functionality
Ensure production schedules and project deadlines are achieved efficiently and on time
Coordinate workflow and communication between Production, Supervisors, Project Managers, Procurement, and Installation teams
Drive productivity, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within the factory environment
Monitor and control manufacturing costs, material usage, waste reduction, and overall supply chain efficiencies
Ensure quality control standards and production specifications are consistently maintained throughout all manufacturing processes
Manage staff performance, training, development, attendance, and disciplinary processes within the factory team
Ensure accurate interpretation and execution of technical drawings, production plans, and project requirements
Oversee material planning, stock management, and procurement requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects
Ensure factory machinery, equipment, and maintenance schedules are effectively managed to minimize downtime
Maintain health, safety, and compliance standards within the factory and production environment
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production challenges efficiently while implementing practical operational solutions
Assist in developing and implementing systems, procedures, and processes to improve overall operational and production performance

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, or a related qualification will be advantageous
8–10 years’ proven experience in a Factory or Production Management role
Essential experience within the Shopfitting, Wood Manufacturing, or Joinery industry
Strong understanding of production planning, factory operations, and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and production specifications
Experience implementing and managing quality control systems and procedures
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license
Bilingual
Must be a South African citizen
