We are seeking a Driver to join our team based at our retirement village in Tokai. This role is responsible for safely transporting residents from the village to appointments, shopping centres, outings, and other destinations within the Southern Suburbs, as well as transporting staff between Faircape facilities when required.

Responsibilities: 

Resident & Staff Transport

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, shopping centres, outings, and other destinations as required
• Transport staff between Faircape facilities and operational sites when needed
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle where necessary, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
• Maintain punctuality and professionalism while adhering to scheduled transport requirements
• Communicate effectively with management regarding schedules, delays, or operational concerns

Vehicle Care & Safety

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness
• Ensure vehicles are fuelled, serviced, and maintained according to company procedures
• Report any accidents, incidents, vehicle defects, or maintenance requirements immediately
• Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company driving policies

Administration & Compliance

• Complete trip logs, mileage records, and other required documentation accurately
• Ensure all required licenses and permits remain valid and up to date
• Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times

What You’ll Bring

Requirements

• Valid South African Code 10 Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit) essential

Experience

• Proven experience in a driving role
• Experience transporting passengers in a professional environment
• Experience working with elderly individuals or within healthcare/hospitality environments (advantageous)

Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent driving ability and knowledge of road safety regulations
• Good knowledge of routes within the Southern Suburbs and surrounding areas
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Patient, caring, and service-oriented approach
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Good time management and reliability
• Basic administrative and record-keeping skills

Specific Requirements

• Clear criminal and health record
• Physically fit and able to assist passengers where required
• Two written references from your most recent employer
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends when operationally required

Working Hours

This position operates on a shift basis, which is 16.25 shifts per month and includes weekends and public holidays, with working hours from 06h15 to 18h15.
