Employer: Core Group
Core Computer Business is the distributor of some of the world’s most loved technology brands across Southern Africa. We bring these brands to customers across South Africa and into Africa through strong commercial partnerships, operational excellence, and a high-performance culture.
We’re a fast-moving, commercially minded business that takes our customers, our brand partnerships, and our people seriously. The pace is fast, expectations are high, and the people who thrive here are the ones who care about the detail, think commercially, take ownership, and get things done.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our finance leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a strategic multi-company role supporting multiple operating entities within the business.
This role is designed for someone who wants to operate at the centre of the business — not on the sidelines. You’ll partner closely with executive leadership, commercial teams, and operational stakeholders to shape business decisions, optimise financial performance, and drive strategic outcomes across the group.
If you’ve built your career in high-performance commercial finance environments, can confidently manage complexity, and know how to turn financial insight into action, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Do
- Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling across multiple operating entities.
- Drive margin, pricing, and gross profit optimisation in partnership with commercial and operational teams.
- Manage cashflow, working capital, and FX risk, including visibility and hedging strategies.
- Own financial reporting, month-end close processes, and Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Partner with Business Unit Heads and commercial leaders to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Oversee inventory and supply chain finance, including stock valuation, slow-moving inventory analysis, and working capital efficiency.
- Drive automation, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.
- Strengthen risk management, governance, and internal controls in line with IFRS and internal policy requirements.
- Deliver meaningful financial insights that influence executive and commercial decision-making.
What You’ll Bring
- Finance or Accounting Degree (minimum requirement).
- CA(SA) or CIMA (Strategic Level) preferred, although strong commercial finance experience will be considered.
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in finance, including senior finance business partnering or commercial finance leadership roles.
- Proven experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or multi-entity commercial environments.
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into strategic commercial insight.
- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capability.
- High-level Excel and data analytics skills with the ability to manage significant complexity.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience interrogating margin, pricing, and cost structures.
- Experience with ERP systems and reporting / BI tools.
- Exposure to retail, wholesale, distribution, or technology sectors will be highly advantageous.
Who You Are
- Commercially minded and operationally aware.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organised.
- Able to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Comfortable presenting to executive and Exco-level audiences.
- Adaptable and resilient in fast-changing, high-performance environments.
- Collaborative with strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability.
- High integrity with sound judgement and ethical decision-making.
- Decisive, accountable, and execution-focused.
Why Join Us
- A genuinely strategic role with direct exposure to executive leadership and the CFO.
- The opportunity to influence commercial outcomes across multiple operating entities.
- A fast-paced environment where high performance and innovation are valued.
- Exposure to some of the world’s leading technology brands and commercial partnerships.
- A culture built around our values: Customer Focus, Passion, Innovation, Get Things Done, Teamwork, Embrace Differences, and Integrity.
If you’re looking for a senior finance role where you can combine strategic thinking, commercial influence, and operational execution — we’d love to hear from you.
