We are currently seeking an experienced Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (Day Shift) to join our dedicated team at Bridgewater Manor in Somerset West.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide daily support to residents according to individual care plans
  • Conduct routine resident observations and report any changes in condition to the Shift Leader
  • Assist with clinical procedures within scope of practice, including:
    • Catheter care
    • Pressure care
    • Vital signs monitoring
    • Intake and output monitoring
    • Oxygen saturation monitoring
    • Urine testing
    • Weighing residents
    • Administering prescribed eye drops
  • Perform wound care and dressings as directed and report wound progress accordingly
  • Support resident comfort, dignity, and overall wellbeing at all times

Handover & Communication

  • Participate in daily shift handovers and communicate relevant resident updates clearly and professionally
  • Escalate concerns, incidents, or changes in resident conditions promptly to the Shift Leader
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care

Administration & Electronic Care Plans

  • Accurately record all nursing interventions and observations within the Electronic Care Plan (ECP) system
  • Complete intake and output charts and ensure all documentation is up to date
  • Assist with maintaining ward stock and ensuring a neat and organised working environment

Requirements 

Qualifications - Qualified and SANC registered as Nursing Auxiliary (ENA)

Experience and Knowledge – Experience in Neuro, Stroke, Orthopaedics, and Geriatrics, as well as experience within Sub Acute environments advantageous

Skills and Attributes - Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, well-spoken, neat, be able to converse with people on different levels - staff, families.

Specific Requirements:

  • Clear health record
  • Clear criminal record
  • Clear credit record
  • Two written references


Working Hours
 - Normal working days are Monday to Sunday, as per the roster. You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month. Shifts will be worked from 07h00 until 19h00.
