We are rolling out a unified ERP and Billing Engine across the Merchant Division to support Next Day Settlement and serve our Africa entity operations. The Role
You will be accountable for the integrity, reliability and continuous improvement of the ERP and billing platforms that underpin our merchant financial operations. That means accurate billing runs, reliable financial system performance, clean SOX ITGC audit outcomes and the ERP capability that lets Finance, Sales and Operations operate with confidence.
You will lead a team of three (ERP Application Support Analyst, ERP Technical Administrator, Billing Technical Support Analyst) and work daily with Finance, Sales, Operations, the BPMO and the Data team. The role lives in the Operate and Optimise phases of the CIO value chain and is a direct contributor to Operational Integrity.
What You'll Own
Platform Stability and Reliability
- Manage day to day ERP and billing platform operations for availability, performance and responsiveness.
- Define ERP application support processes and SLAs. Manage patch, upgrade and maintenance cycles.
- Oversee data integrity within ERP systems and reconciliations across the portfolio.
- Manage ERP environment provisioning across production, UAT and development.
Billing Accuracy and Revenue Assurance
- Own the billing platform. Ensure runs are accurate, timely and reconciled to revenue records.
- Partner with Finance on billing validation controls and exception management.
- Manage commission calculation and payment so Sales commissions are accurate and paid on time.
- Ensure billing and revenue data flows integrate correctly with the Core Platform, CRM and financial reporting systems.
- Support Next Day Settlement in partnership with Architecture and Core Platform teams.
Roadmap and Continuous Improvement
- Execute the ERP platform roadmap aligned to CIO focus areas and COO strategic objectives.
- Lead the Merchant ERP roll out including data migration and go live.
- Drive process improvement that reduces manual reconciliation effort and grows Finance and Operations efficiency.
- Evaluate new ERP capabilities, modules and integrations and recommend adoption where they deliver clear business value.
Governance, Compliance and Risk
- Maintain the ERP risk register. Ensure compliance with SOX ITGC, POPIA and audit obligations.
- Govern ERP vendor relationships for performance, cost and contractual SLA accountability.
- Provide the CIO with regular ERP governance and operational performance reports.
People and Culture Leadership
- Lead an ERP team grounded in our culture. Retain talent, build leadership depth and meet equity targets.
- Build internal ERP capability to reduce dependence on external vendors for routine work.
- Position the ERP team as a trusted internal service partner to Finance, Sales and Operations.
What You'll Bring

- Hands on ERP experience across implementation and operations. Microsoft, Sage, SAP, NetSuite or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of billing platforms, commission engines and revenue assurance practices.
- Experience supporting month end close, billing reconciliation and SOX ITGC control testing.
- Comfort with multi entity or multi country ERP environments (advantageous).
- Working knowledge of data migration patterns and integration middleware.

Experience & Qualifications
Experience
- 5 to 10 years in ERP implementation, management or operations.
- At least 5 years in a management role leading an ERP or billing team.
- Experience working with billing platforms and financial systems is essential.
- Multi entity or multi country ERP environment exposure advantageous.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent (advantageous).
- ERP platform certification in Microsoft, Sage, SAP, NetSuite or equivalent (advantageous).
- ITIL Foundation (advantageous).
