Our client, a well established agricultural research business situated in Durbanville, is seeking a motivated and analytical Crop Science Agronomist to join their team.

This role is ideal for an independent, data-driven agricultural professional who enjoys field-based research, problem-solving, and working closely with growers to deliver high-quality crop science trials and product insights.

The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, establishing, and evaluating field trials that contribute to effective product development, registrations, and commercial recommendations across South Africa.

The incumbent will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Plan, establish, monitor, and evaluate field trials according to approved protocols *Generate accurate, high-quality trial data and interpret findings effectively *Manage multiple projects independently across various trial sites *Build and maintain strong relationships with co-operating farmers and stakeholders *Identify and assess weeds, pests, and diseases within trial environments *Troubleshoot field-related challenges and identify practical solutions *Prepare trial updates and reports for senior management *Ensure accurate data collection and recordkeeping *Supervise and coordinate a small permanent field team *Travel regularly within the Western Cape province.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Agricultural qualification with Mathematical background/training;
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office);
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans is essential);
• Valid driver’s license;
• A willingness to travel long distances, and be away from home from time to time.
