An Architectural Draughtsman at an engineering company in Pretoria is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans used in construction and engineering projects. They work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure designs are accurate, compliant, and practical for construction.Architectural Draughtsman – Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed architectural and technical drawings for residential, commercial, industrial, and engineering projects.Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, site layouts, and construction details.Convert conceptual sketches and designs into accurate CAD drawings.Amend and update drawings according to engineer, architect, or client requirements.Ensure all drawings comply with South African building regulations, municipal standards, and SANS codes.Assist with project documentation and drawing control.Conduct site measurements and site inspections when required.Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, and project teams.Prepare submission drawings for municipal approval processes.Maintain accurate drawing records and filing systems.Work with 2D and 3D drafting software to create detailed models and presentations.Assist with material schedules and technical specifications.Coordinate drawings with structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.Ensure deadlines and project milestones are met.

Required Qualifications

• National Diploma or Certificate in Architectural Technology, Draughting, or a related field.
• Relevant draughting or CAD certification.
• Training in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar drafting software.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies may be advantageous.

Skills & Experience Required

• 2–5+ years’ experience as an Architectural Draughtsman within engineering, construction, or architectural environments.
• Strong proficiency in:

• 3D modelling software (advantageous)
