Our client, a well-established export table grape and raisin producer situated in the Lower Orange River region of Kakamas in the Northern Cape. They are inviting applications from energetic, reliable, responsible, and hardworking individuals for the position of:

IRRIGATION & MAINTENANCE MANAGER

KAKAMAS AREA

Requirements:

-        Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with irrigation systems

-        Experience with irrigation control systems such as Gulf, Irrigator, and Mottech

-        Strong Excel skills will be advantageous

-        Good communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills

-        Strong problem-solving ability

-        Self-disciplined with a strong work ethic

-        Practical and hands-on approach

-        Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

-        Attention to detail and commitment to high standards

-        Ability to function independently and take initiative

-        Technical knowledge and practical maintenance experience will be advantageous

-        Valid driver’s license

Key Responsibilities:

-        Installation, upgrading, and maintenance of irrigation systems

-        Maintenance of pump stations, pipelines, plumbing systems, and spray pumps

-        Fault finding and preventative maintenance

-        Ensuring irrigation systems function efficiently and according to irrigation schedules

-        Assisting with the implementation and improvement of technical systems

-        Accurate record keeping and reporting

-        Working independently while maintaining effective teamwork and communication
