Purpose of the PositionThe Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a professional and friendly manner within a hospitality establishment. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness and stock control at the bar, and ensuring responsible beverage service. Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation and ServicePrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.Mix cocktails and specialty drinks according to recipes and standards.Serve drinks promptly and professionally.Ensure beverages are presented attractively.Customer ServiceWelcome and interact with guests in a friendly manner.Take beverage orders accurately.Recommend drinks and menu items to customers.Handle guest complaints professionally.Bar OperationsMaintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area.Refill stock and supplies when necessary.Monitor inventory and assist with stocktaking.Ensure bar equipment is cleaned and maintained. Cash Handling and BillingProcess customer payments accurately.Handle cash, card payments, and receipts responsibly.Balance cash register at the end of shifts when required.Health and SafetyFollow health, hygiene, and safety regulations.Ensure responsible serving of alcohol.Check identification when necessary to confirm legal drinking age.

Working Conditions
- Grade 10–12 / Matric certificate.
- Bartending or hospitality training is advantageous.
- Responsible alcohol service certification may be required.
Experience
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, bars, or resorts is advantageous.

- Beverage preparation and cocktail mixing.
