INTRODUCTION:
Komatsu South Africa, has an opportunity for a Parts Demand Planner for the Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Germiston. The candidate should have a diploma / degree / NQF level 6 in Supply chain and logistics. The candidate should have at least 2 - 4 years relevant experience in demand planning within mining/ or construction machines environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree / NQF level 6 / Diploma in Supply chain and logistics with emphasis on Inventory management
EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years’ experience parts inventory stock planning and Supplier inventory orders for mining/or construction machine parts
- Komatsu product knowledge an advantage
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- SAP ordering, SAP- BI, MS word, and Ms Excel, Inventory Demand Planning,
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
- Parts inventory stock planning and Supplier inventory orders
- Monitors Branch usage patterns and aligns the planning of orders accordingly.
- Monitors and checks data integrity of SAP data vs Excel
- Maintains the master schedule for planning sequence and lead times to meet parts requirements for defined categories of stock.
- Stays updated on where parts are in the process.
- Monitors the integrity of stock data.
- Reports on stock data – obsolete items, problems with inefficient ordering patterns, suggestions for improvement, etc.
- Report issues and problems immediately.
- Obtains planned stock orders
- Checks & maintains inventory before ordering
- Orders inventory parts stock from suppliers
- Updates and maintains filing systems of source documents.
- Checks that all required information is included with new stock requests and that it is set up and maintained in the new system accurately.
- Developing effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
