Introduction:
Are you a qualified HEM/Diesel Mechanic based in or willing to work in Richardsbay area with a passion for earth-moving machinery. Komatsu South Africa is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual with at least three years of post-trade experience to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in maintenance, diagnostics, and repair to ensure the peak performance of our equipment.
Qualifications:
- A qualified HEM / Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate
Experience:
- 3 Years' experience post trade on earth-moving equipment.
Specific knowledge and skills requirements:
- Knowledge of earth-moving machinery systems.
- Expertise in diagnosing/troubleshooting faults in diesel engines and equipment.
- Proficiency in performing preventative/corrective maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Skill in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Understanding of safety procedures for heavy equipment.
- Competence in repairing/overhauling diesel engine components.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
- Experience with maintenance management systems (preferred).
Job Specification:
The HEM/Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy-duty earth-moving equipment. This includes:

Conducting inspections to identify potential problems and damage.

Troubleshooting and repairing faulty components and systems.

Performing preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

Completing necessary reports and documentation.
