Our client, a well-established law firm in Mossel Bay is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Litigation Department. The role requires a driven, target-focused attorney capable of managing a busy litigation portfolio independently

Minimum requirements:

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• 2–5 years post-admission experience in General Litigation
• Strong Magistrates’ Court and/or High Court litigation experience
• Ability to work independently and manage own matters
• Strong drafting and litigation skills
• Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle advantageous
• Afrikaans and English advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a full general litigation caseload from inception to finalisation
• Attending court appearances, consultations, mediations, and pre-trials
• Drafting pleadings, affidavits, notices, and legal correspondence
• Liaising with clients, counsel, sheriffs, and correspondents
• Conducting legal research and providing legal opinions where required
• File management and ensuring matter progression within deadlines

Billing & Performance Requirements:

• Strong focus on achieving monthly billing targets
• Ability to manage a profitable caseload and ensure effective fee recovery
• Target-driven environment with performance measured against billing output
• Accurate and timeous recording of all billable work
