Banking & Finance Associate AttorneyKloof, KZN (potential for remote work depending on experience)Working Hours: 09:30 – 17:30 (South African standard hours)Reporting to: Head of Banking & Finance based in LondonEnvironment: Private Practice supporting a Top 50 UK Law FirmSalary: Market related / Depending on experienceMinimum Requirements:LLB DegreeAdmitted Attorney in South Africa1–5 years’ post-admission experience within Banking & Finance LawMust have solid Banking & Finance experience gained at a reputable law firm or financial institutionStrong exposure to LMA documentation is essentialExperience drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documents, and finance-related agreementsExposure to syndicated lending, trade finance, leveraged finance, or asset-based lending advantageousStrong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skillsAbility to work within an international and fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and attention to detailDuties and Responsibilities:Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating banking and finance documentationAssisting with syndicated lending and cross-border transactionsReviewing and negotiating security documentationAssisting with trade finance and structured finance mattersConducting legal research and preparing legal opinionsLiaising with local and international clientsSupporting senior attorneys on complex finance transactionsAssisting with transaction management and deal executionEnsuring compliance with banking and financial regulationsKey Skills:Strong understanding of Banking & Finance transactionsCommercially minded with strong problem-solving abilitiesExcellent drafting and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple transactions simultaneouslyStrong organisational and time-management skillsAbility to work both independently and within a team environment
