Key Responsibilities
- Capture and maintain accurate accounting records
- Perform monthly reconciliations (bank, creditors, debtors)
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Prepare and submit tax returns (Individuals, Companies, and Trusts)
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and deadlines
- Administer Trust accounts, including:
- Trust financial statements
- Beneficiary allocations and distributions
- Trust tax compliance and submissions
- Liaise with clients and provide professional support
- Assist with audits and year-end processes
- Maintain proper filing systems and supporting documentation
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Accounting qualification (Diploma or Degree)
- Registered Tax Practitioner (essential)
- 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting firm or similar environment
- Proven experience with Trusts (essential)
- Strong understanding of tax compliance and SARS processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Key Competencies
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Good communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Advantageous
- Experience with software such as Sage, Xero, CaseWare or Pastel
- Familiarity with SARS eFiling and CIPC submissions
