My client in Germiston is looking for a TIG Welder to join their team. The TIG Welder is responsible for welding, cutting, and brazing metal components and products using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment. The role involves completing both small/simple and large, complex fabrications inaccordance with drawings and specifications. The Welder must work in compliance with all manufacturing, quality, and safety policies.

Minimum requirements:

Technical certification or diploma from a recognised technical college.
Minimum of 1-year relevant welding experience.
Competence in using measuring devices (e.g. tape measures).
Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and layouts to accurately fit and weldstructural components.
Plan work procedures by reviewing job instructions and specifications and prepare required tools and materials.
Fabricate and repair a variety of components and equipment using appropriate cutting and welding techniques.
Monitor welding and fitting processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Prepare, assemble, align, and tack-weld parts prior to final welding.
Weld components for the fabrication of mild steel and aluminium products.
Perform first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks in line with company standards and procedures.
Set up and adjust welding equipment according to prescribed specifications.
Operate power tools and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
Use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and always comply with safety regulations.
Change gas cylinders when required.
Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
Report faulty equipment, safety hazards, or defective materials to the supervisor immediately.
Perform any additional tasks as assigned by management.
