Tax AdministratorOffice-based in Centurion, Gauteng Salary negoitable (depending on experience)

Minimum requirements:

Experience in a professional services / accounting practice environment preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax or accounting environment

Key Responsibilities:

Completion and submission of IT14 company, IT12 individual and IT12R trust tax returns
Review and interpretation of ITA34 tax assessments
Completion and submission of IRP 6 provisional tax returns for companies, individuals and trusts
Provisional tax calculations
Income tax calculations (capital gains tax, travelling logbooks, income and expenses schedules, withholding tax etc)
Correspondence with SARS
Update and maintain SARS e-filing profiles
Attend meetings and set up appointments with SARS
Tax clearance applications
Income tax registrations for individuals and trusts
Experience in handling SARS audits and disputes
Communicating clearly with clients regarding tax matters and deadlines
Monitoring tax compliance status and resolving non-compliance issues
Calculation and review of interest and penalties
Managing SARS verifications, audits, and queries
Drafting and submitting objections and appeals
Requests for penalty and interest remissions
Payment arrangement applications
Compromise applications where applicable
Ensure client satisfaction by delivering service that is consistent, seamless and error free
Ensure that all walk – inbound and outbound queries for all tax products are promptly, effective and efficiently resolved
Knowledge of Vat, PAYE, SDL & UIF registrations

Accounting & Software Skills:

Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation
Strong Excel skills (reconciliations, calculations, schedules)
Ability to work with financial statements and supporting schedules

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage a portfolio of clients
Professional, ethical, and confidential approach
Professional interaction with clients and SARS officials

Ability to work under pressure during tax season
