A leading automotive manufacturing environment is seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Component Engineer position in the Body / Electrical / Trim and Styling Department – Product Development.

The successful candidate will ensure that locally manufactured vehicle products are engineered according to market requirements by designing, developing, testing, and introducing components into production. The role also involves adapting and developing global designs to suit regional environmental conditions, while ensuring the correct technical data and engineering levels are maintained.

This position contributes to ensuring that products are built problem-free, meet regional technical and local content requirements, and maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the release of components and systems within the Body / Electrical / Trim and Styling areas.

• Investigate and resolve design-related problems across locally manufactured vehicle platforms.

• Maintain accurate records of production part levels and software configurations (Bill of Materials).

• Coordinate testing, validation, and release activities for components and systems.

• Initiate and drive cost-saving initiatives on components entering production.

• Support ongoing technical development and improvements in accordance with the required product development processes.

• Provide technical support for discontinued models still required within regional markets.

Minimum Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience Required

• 1–3 years’ experience in automotive component development, including development, improvements, and problem-solving.
