The purpose of the Head: Premium role is to manage the Top 300 corporate employer segment, delivering a dedicated but scalable service focused on retention, client satisfaction, growth opportunities, and proactive claims and membership management.
The role supports the design and execution of segment strategies that balance operational efficiency with enhanced client engagement. It ensures delivery of consistent service standards, improves performance metrics, and ensures alignment with the organization’s Partnership Framework.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Segment Strategy Development
- Develop and execute strategies for the Premium segment with focus on retention, claims optimization, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure alignment with the organization’s Partnership Framework, and governance expectations.
Portfolio Management
- Manage a significant portfolio of mid‑ to large‑size employer groups
- Implement standardized but dedicated service delivery models appropriate for Premium portfolios
- Use market insights to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
Relationship Building
- Engage with senior client stakeholders through proactive engagement, quarterly performance reviews, and claims trend reporting
- Advocate for clients internally and ensure the right internal support structures are aligned.
Commercial Management
- Achieve annual Premium segment revenue and retention targets
- Support pricing discussions, product opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies with Actuarial and Finance teams.
Team Leadership
- Lead the Premium segment team, actively coaching and guiding performance
- Drive operational discipline within the segment. Stakeholder & Governance Alignment

Requirements:
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Business/Commerce/Insurance or related field
- 8+ years’ experience in Relationship Management, Key Account Management or Corporate Segmentation—3 years at senior level
- Proven experience managing high-value, complex portfolios
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Deep understanding of insurance, claims behaviour and corporate client environments
