Position Purpose
• Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of robust data visualization systems across Transnet Port Terminals (TPT).• Lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of IT solutions to address the system integration needs of TPT, which include:• Facilitating seamless integration between TPT's internal systems.• Ensuring integration between TPT systems and other Transnet business unit systems.Enabling integration between TPT systems and the systems of Transnet's customers



Position Outputs
• Maintain 99% uptime for all integration platforms (EDI/WebMethods):to ensure uninterrupted electronic messaging between TPT and external stakeholders such as car manufacturers and shipping lines.• Develop and maintain WebMethods applications: using tools like Integration Server, Designer, Universal Messaging, and Trading Networks to support seamless B2B communication.• Manage system integration specifications and design documentation: to guarantee accurate and reliable data exchange across TPT systems.• Ensure high availability, security, and disaster recovery protocols: for integration platforms to prevent operational standstill during outages.• Conduct regular disaster recovery tests and root cause analysis: for any downtime incidents impacting terminal operations.• Oversee timely service delivery for new interface requirements: while maintaining production stability for all B2B transactions.• Develop and maintain product roadmaps: for integration platforms to align with evolving business needs and technological advancements.• Lead project management and execution: for integration initiatives, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and zero repeat findings.



Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree/B-Tech in a relevant ICT discipline.
• Over 6-8 years of progressively responsible management or operational experience working with electronic data interchange (EDI) systems, data transmission, and multi-functional operations.
• 3 years of hands-on experience with databases, file transfer protocols, application programming, data translation tools, communication protocols, and various data exchange methods.

Recognition of competence
Number of years with lesser or lower qualification
• Relevant qualification (NQF 6)
• 8 yrs relevant and solid experience with at least 3 yrs at managerial level or specialist experience.
