We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Business Analyst to join a high-performing analytics and delivery team supporting a leading retail organisation. This is a contract role requiring four days per week in-office, working in a fast-paced, data-rich environment.

You will sit at the intersection of business, data, and delivery, translating retail performance questions into clear analytical requirements and actionable insights. Key responsibilities and output areas include the following:

Business Analysis & Insight Enablement

Translate business questions and retail performance needs into clear BI and reporting requirements.

Work closely with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and insight frameworks aligned to commercial objectives.

Analyse existing reports and dashboards to identify gaps, overlaps, and opportunities to improve insight quality.

BI Delivery & Collaboration

Partner with data engineers, BI developers, and analytics teams to ensure accurate and fit-for-purpose BI solutions.

Support the end-to-end delivery of dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools.

Validate data outputs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and business trust.

Retail Context & Stakeholder Engagement

Engage with stakeholders across trading, supply chain, merchandising, and operations.

Facilitate requirements workshops and working sessions to align business and data teams.

Communicate insights clearly, translating data into meaningful business narratives.

Consulting Mindset in Action

Apply structured thinking and problem-solving to ambiguous business problems.

Bring clarity, prioritisation, and momentum to BI delivery initiatives.

Build strong working relationships quickly in a delivery-driven environment.

Contribute to continuous improvement of BI and analytics practices.

Key Requirements

• 4+ years’ experience as a business intelligence business analyst or similar analytics-focused role.
• Proven experience working with BI platforms, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into analytical and technical requirements.
• Experience working in data-driven environments, ideally within retail or consumer-facing industries.
• Comfortable working on-site four days per week.

Technical & Domain Knowledge

• Strong understanding of BI concepts, metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
• Experience working with tools such as Qlik Sense or similar BI platforms.
• Ability to work with complex data sets and collaborate with data engineering teams.
• Retail domain exposure (sales, margin, stock, supply chain, customer behaviour) is advantageous.
