Employer: Status Staffing

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Retail Manager to join their team in Brackenfell, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store operations, driving sales, leading teams, and delivering excellent customer service. Applicants must have Grade 12 (Matric), a relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (advantageous), and a minimum of 5 years' retail management experience, including 3 years managing multiple stores or branches. A proven track record of achieving sales targets, strong leadership and communication skills, commercial acumen, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and retail management systems are required. Experience in the furniture, home décor, or related retail industry will be advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field will be advantageous.
  • Management and/or Sales qualifications will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in retail management.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing multiple retail stores or branches.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience within the furniture, home décor, or related retail industry will be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
  • Experience with retail management systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare management reports.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent sales and business development abilities.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
 
DUTIES:
 
Sales Management:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed branch sales targets.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance across all branches.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, market share, and profitability.
  • Drive promotional campaigns and product launches.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales initiatives across all stores.
 
Branch Operations:
  • Oversee the daily operations of all assigned retail branches.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels and effective inventory control practices.
  • Monitor branch expenses and profitability.
  • Ensure stores are visually appealing and merchandising standards are maintained.
 
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop branch managers and sales teams.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
  • Identify training and development needs.
  • Foster a positive, customer-focused culture throughout the business.
  • Manage employee performance and address disciplinary matters when required.
 
Customer Experience:
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered consistently across all branches.
  • Resolve customer complaints effectively and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements where required.
 
Reporting and Administration:
  • Prepare and present regular sales and operational reports.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure accurate branch administration and record keeping.
HOURS:
  • Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 17:00
