Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and energetic Short-Term Insurance Lead Generation Consultant to support our sales process by generating qualified leads, engaging prospects, and facilitating the closing process.
This role is ideal for a sales-driven individual who enjoys telephonic engagement, building client relationships, and working in a high-performance, commission-based environment.
The successful candidate will initially focus on lead generation and appointment setting, with the opportunity to grow into a full sales consultant role with deal-closing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Lead Generation & Qualification
- Conduct outbound cold calls to prospective clients
- Introduce Discovery short-term insurance solutions
- Identify client needs and create interest in reviewing existing policies
- Obtain client documentation (current policies, schedules)
- Maintain accurate CRM records
Phase 2: Sales Support & Appointment Setting
- Follow up with leads after quotation preparation
- Book appointments between clients and Financial Advisor (you)
- Handle client objections and keep engagement warm
Phase 3: Sales Execution (Post Training)
- Prepare insurance quotes (Discovery systems)
- Present and explain quotations to clients
- Close sales and assist with onboarding
- Ensure compliance with FAIS requirements (if applicable)

Candidate Requirements
Education / Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) – compulsory
- RE5 (advantageous, required for growth into sales role)
- Short-term insurance qualifications (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years sales or call centre experience
- Experience in insurance or financial services (highly advantageous)
- Experience in cold calling / telesales required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong telephonic communication skills
- Confidence in cold calling and handling objections
- Ability to build rapport quickly
- Target-driven and resilient
- Basic computer literacy (CRM systems, Excel)
- Organised and detail-oriented
Other Requirements
- Based in or able to commute to Honeydew
- Clear credit and criminal record (FSCA environment)
- South African citizen or valid work permit
