    NFB Insurance Brokers is recruiting for a Junior Marketer that will be based in East London.

    Overview and Purpose of the Role

    The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Marketers, assist in securing and servicing new business opportunities, support client relationship management, and contribute to marketing and business development initiatives.

     

    This position combines client-facing responsibilities, administration, sales support, and marketing activities of NFB Insurance Brokers, East London, and will report directly to the Directors.

     

    Key roles and responsibilities

    • Accompany senior corporate and commercial brokers to client new business and renewal meetings.
    • Check all renewal and new business documentation is correct prior to meeting with client.
    • Assist with sourcing and securing new business opportunities
    • Follow up on leads generated by staff of various companies within the NVest Financial Holdings Group of companies and other sub-agents.
    • Provide personal and professional client service
    • Prepare and send quotations requests to insurers in respect of new business and market exercises
    • Assist in preparing comparison schedules and proposals for client presentations
    • Support brokers with renewal marketing and rebroking exercises where required.
    • Build relationships with insurers and service providers.
    • Assist in negotiations with insurers to obtain the best possible outcome for clients.
    • Assist clients and the claims team, where necessary, in respect of the submission and processing of claims.
    • Draft and prepare accurate and detailed Record of Advice (minutes of meetings)
    • Complete the product specific training in respect of all personal and commercial products.
    • Ensuring that client insurances are managed and administered professionally, effectively and in the interests of the clients always.
    • Ensure Proposal Forms completed in full by client.
    • In respect of all new business ensure that a full needs analysis is conducted and that the following FAIS documents are signed by the client: Intermediary Disclosure, Service level agreement, and Letter of appointment.

     

    GENERAL

    • Ensure adherence to company procedures, insurer requirements and legislation pertaining to the Short-Term Insurance Industry.
    • Attend internal and external training sessions where required
    • Provide general and administrative and operational support to the corporate and commercial broking team.
    • Learning, understanding, and utilising any computer packages required to perform your roles effectively.
    • Assisting in respect of conceptualising, strategizing, designing, implementing, and/or monitoring of various projects and/or strategies to help grow and develop the business and its service offering.
    • Contribute creative ideas and concepts for social media content.
    • Maintain a professional image and always uphold the best interest of the company.
    • Help foster and ensure an overall positive working environment for all.
    • Assist with the planning, coordination and attendance of company functions, networking events, and golfing days.

    Build and foster relationships with clients and partners at these events to support business


Required Skills

  • Business Development: 1 year or less
  • Presentation Skills: 1 year or less
  • Insurance Sales: 1 year or less
  • Client Service Oriented: 1 year or less

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
  • RE5 and minimum NQF 4 Short Term Insurance qualification (Advantageous)
  • Minimum 1-2 years commercial insurance sales(advantageous).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Short Term Insurance Industry / underwriting experience(advantageous).
