πΌ Role Overview
The Regional Growth Executive: East Africa will carry full P&L responsibility and be accountable for the overall success, stability, and growth of Lesaka in East Africa, with a specific focus on Kenya.
This role oversees all Lesaka entities operating in the region β including existing GAAP entities β ensuring alignment with group strategy while driving strong local execution.
As the senior executive representative of Lesaka in East Africa, the Regional Growth Executive will lead:
- In-country strategy and execution
- Sales, operations, and marketing
- Strategic partnerships
You will work closely with Head Office Finance, Compliance, and HR teams to maintain governance standards and regulatory alignment.
The ideal candidate is a commercially disciplined, entrepreneurial operator with strong experience in Hospitality, Payments, Fintech, or similar sectors, capable of driving short-term results while building a sustainable pathway for long-term growth and regional expansion.
π― Purpose of the Role
Ownership for high-level management, sales, and growth performance of the East Africa region, including:
- Leading and managing Sales and Growth structures
- Joint development of new country expansion strategies
- Creating route-to-market plans in new territories
Sales channel leadership includes:
- Country Growth Leadership teams
- Internal sales representatives and line managers
- Independent sales agents and/or franchise partners
- Key product and supplier partnerships
P&L Ownership includes:
- Delivery of sales performance in line with or above budget targets
- Management of sales teams and cost control
- Oversight of device deployment and operational controls
- Management of operating expenses across territories
Cross-functional collaboration:
- Align with Marketing on field campaigns and strategy
- Oversee administrative support (device admin, customer support, segmentation analysis)
- Coordinate go-to-market strategies and new product/service rollout
π Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Development
- Build a strong culture aligned to strategy and performance targets
- Lead and develop sales managers, representatives, and agents
- Recruit and retain high-performing talent across countries
- Develop and manage partnerships with independent agents
- Maintain trusted relationships with Head Office and support teams
Sales & Marketing
- Drive revenue across Payments, ADP, Software, and Credit products
- Execute through both Direct and Agency channels
- Monitor performance through CRM systems
- Identify new geographic and trading opportunities
- Strengthen brand presence and market alignment
Customer Retention
- Monitor merchant performance to maximise ARPU and lifecycle value
- Ensure SLA adherence across support and operational teams
Cost Control
- Manage and control sales-related costs within budget
Reporting
- Deliver weekly and monthly reports to leadership
- Develop structured reporting cycles with teams
- Align retention reporting with Business Support and Sales
- Provide ad-hoc reporting for new initiatives

- Strong understanding of VAS and Payments industry dynamics
- Experience in FMCG, Liquor, Hospitality, or similar sectors (preferred)
- Proven ability to lead multi-country sales teams
- Strong commercial acumen and cost management expertise
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong adaptability
- Advanced Excel and data-driven decision-making abilities
π Education
- Minimum: Matric exemption
- Degree or diploma in Business, Sales, or Marketing (preferred)
- Strong computer literacy required

- Experience working in computerised sales and admin environments
- Proficiency in Email, Excel, Word, and internet tools
- Strong organisation, planning, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
