Job Title: Engineering Manager

About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established mining operation for a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead and oversee all engineering functions on site. This role is based at a mining operation in Limpopo Province, within reasonable proximity to Polokwane. The role will require daily travel to site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the engineering function, including mechanical, electrical, and plant maintenance teams
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize plant availability and reliability
• Manage and control engineering budgets and capital projects
• Oversee asset management, including lifecycle planning and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards
• Collaborate closely with production teams to support operational targets

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (strong preference for a Mechanical Engineer)
• GCC Mines & Works
• Minimum 10 - 15 years' experience in underground mining engineering environments, with at least 5 - 10 years in a senior leadership role
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance within the mining sector
• Experience in hard rock mining environments will be advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, projects, and maintenance systems effectively
