We are looking for a highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented Junior Planner to join our Merchandise team and play a key role in inventory management, replenishment planning, reporting, and merchandise administration.
As a Junior Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal stock availability across our online and retail channels through effective replenishment planning, inventory administration, reporting, and cross-functional coordination between Head Office and Warehouse operations.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric (Essential)
- Diploma or Degree in Planning, Forecasting, Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field (Advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Management, or Merchandise Administration within a retail environment
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management platforms
- Exposure to Shopify, Syspro, Magento or similar website systems will be advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
Key Responsibilities
Replenishment Planning
- Manage replenishment for online and retail stores
- Generate and maintain replenishment reports and planning files
- Place replenishment orders accurately and within required timelines
- Monitor stock levels and identify potential stock shortages or overstock situations
- Manage open purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up with stakeholders
- Maintain stock balance across key product lines
- Produce and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly sales, margin, stock holding, forecasting, and supplier reports
- Monitor key business metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure reporting templates remain accurate, professional, and user-friendly
- Highlight anomalies and performance concerns to relevant stakeholders
Merchandise Process Integration
- Coordinate merchandise-related processes between the warehouse and Head Office
- Reconcile manifests and stock deliveries accurately
- Support stock processing and inventory control activities
- Conduct stock checks and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain tracking tools and operational spreadsheets
- Create and maintain product listings across Shopify and Syspro
- Ensure accuracy of product information including descriptions, images, tags, pricing, specifications, and metadata
- Load promotional pricing, long descriptions, and pricing plans within required timeframes
- Manage product data updates and communicate changes to stakeholders
- Distribute weekly virtual product lists to stores
- Complete ad hoc tasks accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Provide timely communication on project progress and deliverables
- Support broader merchandise and planning initiatives as required
