Our client is seeking a Security Engineer to join their IT team in Woodmead on a hybrid working arrangement. This role is suited to a seasoned cybersecurity professional with strong technical expertise in infrastructure security, threat management, and enterprise security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

•       Implement and maintain network, endpoint, and cloud security controls

•       Monitor network traffic for suspicious or malicious activity

•       Perform threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing

•       Manage Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, and Microsoft Intune environments

•       Configure and support security tools including firewalls, EDR, AV, and WAF solutions

•       Respond to security incidents and support incident management processes

•       Conduct security awareness training for staff and stakeholders

•       Support governance, risk, and compliance activities (PCI DSS, audits, policies)

•       Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation

Requirements:

•       Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field

•       6+ years’ experience in security engineering or related roles

•       Strong knowledge of network security principles and protocols

•       Experience with Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, and Intune

•       Understanding of vulnerability management and penetration testing

•       Ability to respond to security incidents outside business hours (standby required)

•       Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Advantageous:

•       Certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CISSP, ISO27001

•       FortiGate or Cisco security certifications

•       Knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI)

•       Experience with DevSecOps practices

•       Exposure to enterprise-scale security environments
