We have an incredible opportunity for a Courier Co-ordinator at Spitz in Bryanston, Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of the stock to and from Head Office. Key responsibilities include preparing cost estimates for local deliveries, managing courier logistics, and overseeing the clearance of courier shipments.                    

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
• Direct Reports: 0 

Key Areas of Impact:

• Receive parcels from Courier/or Spitz Driver
  • Receive parcels from Courier companies/or Spitz drivers
  • Inspect the parcels to identify any tampering
  • Inspect the parcels to ensure the correct recipient delivery address
  • Register the parcels in the Receipt book
  • Notify recipient of parcel delivery
• Send parcels from Head Office by courier
  • Receive parcel from Head office staff to send out
  • Inspect parcel to ensure all relevant information is on the parcel
  • Inspect parcel to ensure no tampering
  • Register parcel in the Collection book
  • Ensure that the parcel is properly packaged and marked and is inside Couriers' packaging
  • Generate waybills on courier system
  • Send waybill number to sender of parcel
  • Attach waybill and invoice to parcel
  • Track and trace parcels sent out
  • File copies of the waybills and manifest
• Customs Import clearing
  • Follow customs and other statutory bodies for cargo clearance and compliance procedure
  • Receive customs clearance documents from agent
  • Check the agent has the correct invoice for customs clearing.
  • Check details on SAD500, correct consignor, consignee details, and importers code captured
  • Check customs worksheet to verify that correct tariff headings and duty/preferential rate are applied
  • Complete and send the clearing instruction timeously to avoid storage charges and delivery delays

• Costings for local deliveries
  • Check the accuracy of information on supplier invoice and balance PO to SAP
  • Create shipment number on SAP
  • Create Inbounds delivery in SAP and link to shipment
  • Export costing from SAP into Excel format and send to buyers for approval
  • Send costings to buyers for approval then to warehouse to goods receipt into stock
  • Inform Accounts Payable of any shortages
• General Administration
  • File documents in numerical order
  • Ensure enough space in filing cabinet and box old files
  • Resolve queries from stakeholders timeously and provide timeou feedback
  • Maintaining a clean and organized mail room
  • Ensure parcels are collected and sent out timeously from the delivery area

• 2 Years Courier/Shipping experience

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

• Matric / Grade 12

• Understanding of local parcel movements, creating waybills and tracking
• Knowledge of import policies, practices, processes and documentation
• Understanding of general office admin
• Logistics experience
• Knowledge of customs documentation
