Uses data analytics and AI to find fraud, malpractice and anomalies across large datasets, and to help quantify losses. This ad covers 2 positions: 1 Senior plus 1 Junior to cover analytics across the portfolio. The role reports to the Forensic Investigations Project Lead.
Key responsibilities:
- Apply data analytics and AI techniques to uncover malpractices and anomalies.
- Build and run analyses on large structured and unstructured datasets.
- Identify patterns and red flags that direct and support investigations.
- Visualise and report findings to support investigators and forensic reports.
- Support quantification of losses, including PFMA-related quantifications.
Required Skills
- Sql: 3 to 4 years
- Python: 3 to 4 years
- Data Analytics: 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
SENIOR FORENSIC DATA ANALYST (1 position)
Qualification: Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Forensic Accounting or a related field.
Registration / certification: Analytics certification (e.g. ACL/Galvanize, IDEA) advantageous; CFE advantageous.
Minimum experience: 4+ years in data analytics, ideally in fraud, forensic or audit work.
JUNIOR FORENSIC DATA ANALYST (1 position)
Qualification: Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Forensic Accounting or a related field.
Registration / certification: Analytics certification (e.g. ACL/Galvanize, IDEA) an advantage.
Minimum experience: 1-2 years in data analytics, ideally with exposure to fraud, forensic or audit work.
Skills & competencies (all positions):
- SQL and a scripting language (Python or R)
- Forensic analytics tools (ACL/IDEA) and BI tools (Power BI / Tableau)
- Comfort handling large datasets; foundational machine learning
Advantageous: Fraud or forensic analytics track record.
