Job SummaryThe IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, hardware, software, and network operations. The successful candidate will provide technical support to staff, troubleshoot IT issues, ensure system security, and assist with the implementation of technology solutions to support business operations. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical SupportProvide first-line and second-line IT support to staffTroubleshoot hardware, software, printer, email, and network issuesInstall, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripheralsRespond to IT support requests in a timely and professional mannerNetwork & Systems AdministrationMonitor and maintain company networks, servers, and internet connectivityConfigure and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controlsEnsure data backups are completed and systems are secureAssist with server maintenance, updates, and troubleshootingSoftware & Hardware ManagementInstall and update operating systems and business softwareMaintain inventory of IT equipment and software licensesCoordinate repairs and replacements of IT equipment when requiredAssist with procurement of IT hardware and softwareCybersecurity & ComplianceEnsure antivirus, firewall, and security systems are functioning correctlyMonitor systems for potential security risks and vulnerabilitiesEducate staff on IT security best practicesEnsure compliance with company IT policies and data protection standardsSystem Improvement & ProjectsAssist with implementation of new IT systems and technologiesRecommend improvements to increase efficiency and system reliabilitySupport remote users and remote access systemsParticipate in IT projects and upgradesDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate IT documentation and system recordsRecord and track IT support issues and resolutionsPrepare reports on system performance and IT activities when required
- Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an IT support or IT specialist role
- Valid driver’s license advantageous
- Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, or CompTIA certifications advantageous
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
- Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Understanding of servers, routers, switches, and firewalls
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and within a team
