Job SummaryThe IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support, maintaining IT systems and equipment, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the company’s technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining networks, installing systems, and supporting users across the business. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical SupportProvide daily IT support to staff and usersTroubleshoot hardware, software, email, printer, and network issuesInstall, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheralsAssist users with system access and password resetsRespond to IT support requests promptly and professionallyHardware & Software MaintenanceInstall and update operating systems and software applicationsPerform routine maintenance on IT equipmentDiagnose and repair hardware faults where possibleSet up workstations, devices, and user accounts for new employeesMaintain IT asset and equipment inventoryNetwork SupportAssist with monitoring and maintaining company networks and internet connectivitySupport Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and network devicesEscalate major network or server issues when necessaryAssist with backups and system recovery processesSecurity & ComplianceEnsure antivirus and security software are updatedFollow company IT security policies and proceduresAssist in protecting company data and systems from security threatsMaintain confidentiality of company information and user dataDocumentation & AdministrationRecord IT issues, solutions, and maintenance activitiesMaintain accurate documentation of systems and configurationsAssist with procurement and setup of IT equipment when required
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in an IT support or technician role
- Valid driver’s license advantageous
- Relevant IT certifications advantageous (CompTIA A+, N+, Microsoft, Cisco)
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems
- Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Basic networking knowledge (routers, switches, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail
- Technical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to learn and adapt
