Duties & ResponsibilitiesAn Executive Housekeeper at a luxury 5-star hotel in Plettenberg Bay is responsible for overseeing the entire housekeeping operation to ensure exceptional cleanliness, guest comfort, and presentation standards throughout the property.Operational ManagementManage the daily operations of the housekeeping departmentEnsure all guest rooms, suites, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas meet 5-star standardsConduct routine inspections of rooms and hotel facilitiesEnsure turn-down services and VIP room preparations are completed to standardCoordinate deep cleaning schedules and preventative maintenance reportingMaintain housekeeping SOPs and luxury service standardsStaff ManagementRecruit, train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping staffPrepare staff rosters and manage departmental schedulingConduct performance reviews and ongoing training sessionsMonitor staff productivity and service deliveryEnsure staff grooming and presentation standards are maintainedInventory & Budget ControlManage housekeeping budgets and control departmental costsMonitor stock levels of linen, amenities, cleaning chemicals, and suppliesOversee linen room operations and stock takesNegotiate with suppliers and manage purchasing where applicableMinimise wastage and control breakages/lossesGuest ServiceHandle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionallyEnsure high guest satisfaction and quick resolution of housekeeping issuesCoordinate with Front Office regarding arrivals, departures, and VIP guestsMaintain exceptional attention to detail and personalized guest experiencesHealth, Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with health & safety regulationsMaintain hygiene and sanitation standardsEnsure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicalsImplement eco-friendly and sustainable housekeeping practices where possibleCoordination with Other DepartmentsLiaise with Maintenance regarding repairs and room defectsWork closely with Front Office and R...

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Hospitality Management qualification or similar tertiary qualification preferred
- Minimum 4–6 years’ housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel or lodge environment
- At least 2–3 years in a senior supervisory or management role
- Experience within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality establishment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, chemicals, and equipment
- Computer literacy (MS Office and hotel PMS systems)
- Budgeting and stock control experience
- Experience with luxury boutique hotels or seaside resorts
- Knowledge of eco-conscious hospitality practices
- Multilingual ability advantageous
- Driver’s license preferred
