Performance of monthly accounting functions e.g. Journals and recons.

Preparation of payroll.

Handling all HR matters including the hiring, disciplinary matters, staff rosters and maintaining employee records.

Performance of daily reconciliations with cash and credit card takings to the bank statements.

Maintaining petty cash records.

Supervision of a debtors and creditors clerk.

Reviewing monthly supplier recons and authorising payments.

Performance of statutory duties such as submitting Income tax returns, Provisional Tax returns, VAT returns, PAYE Returns, UIF returns, EMP501s and Return of Earnings.

Implementing and monitoring of internal controls.

Supervising the performance of stock counts.

Liaising with the bank, insurance and other third parties.

Being involved in strategic decision making.

Performance of ad hoc projects as determined by management.

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the Point of Sales system.

Drafting and presenting monthly management accounts with variance analysis to management.

Preparation of annual financial statements.

Maintaining a fixed asset register.
