We are seeking a professional, well-presented and reliable General Assistant / Housekeeper to join our team at our office in Claremont.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming office environment while assisting with general housekeeping duties, replenishing supplies, running errands and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the office.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning Duties
- Dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming office and common areas
- Sanitising workstations, door handles, light switches, and communal surfaces
- Cleaning kitchens and canteens and replenishing supplies
- Emptying bins, cleaning fridges and microwaves, and sanitising canteen tables
Heavy Lifting & Manual Support
- Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, bottled water, and bulk deliveries
- Assisting with furniture moves and storage organisation
- Receiving, unpacking, and storing supplies appropriately
General Office Support
- Running errands, including collecting post from PostNet when required
- Replenishing bird feeders and assisting with ad hoc cleaning tasks
- Supporting special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning initiatives
Scheduled Cleaning Projects
- Internal and external window cleaning
- Balcony cleaning
- Upholstery vacuuming
- Cabinet sanitising
- Dusting hard-to-reach areas
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Matric (Grade 12) advantageous
- Previous experience in a housekeeping, cleaning, office support, or general assistant role
- Comfortable lifting and moving supplies, stock and equipment when required
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and the safe use of cleaning products
- Experience interacting professionally with staff, visitors and service providers

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30 (45-minute lunch break)
Flexible working hours are available between 07:00 and 18:00, subject to manager approval.
