Purpose of position:

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for management of a large finance department responsible for the Wilderness Botswana companies.  The incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of the following key performance areas.

Brief Description of position:

• Take on financial management responsibilities for some of the Group Entities.
• On time submission of monthly accounts, along with which goes:
  • Provision of accurate and timeous financial information
  • Maintenance of accurate and complete accounting records
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts commentaries
  • Managing the month-end process
  • Preparation and submission of monthly group reporting packs
• Working capital management, including Bank and Cash, Accounts Receivables, Inventory and Accounts Payables as well as all the associated processes
• Processing of group related and third party revenue
• Reviewing work done by junior staff and ensuring it meets Wilderness minimum quality standards
• Tax compliance including preparation and submission of all relevant tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, deferred tax calculations.)
• Preparation of cash availability reports and monthly Cash Flows
• Ensuring compliance and maintenance of effective systems of internal controls
• Completion of the quarterly Rolling Forecasts/Budgets
• Participate in the annual year- end audit processes
• Preparation of Statutory financial statements.
• Preparation of year -end audit packs and interim reporting packs
• Management of the Capex process and Fixed Asset Registers

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION / TRAINING

• Qualified Accountant or Last Level (CA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
• Advanced Excel
• Computer Literate
• Working/practical knowledge of Botswana Companies Act, Income Tax, VAT, statutory deductions, etc

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least 3 years’ experience in level with responsibility for the complete financial reporting function, or
• External audit or firm experience up to a Senior Level.
