Employer: Placement Point (Pty) Ltd

A very established licensed Medical Device Manufacturer, Distributor & Wholesaler and a trusted provider of high‑quality Printing & Packaging solutions in Cape Town is looking for a Production Clerk.

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience
  • Inhouse training will be provided
  • Experience working in a Factory / Assembly line / Production facility
  • Diploma or certificate in Production, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field – advantageous
  • Excellent PC skills (incl. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and handles conflict successfully and effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret data and present insights clearly
  • Methodical, with an ability to work under pressure whilst being attentive to detail, with the capacity to multitask, must be able to use own initiative, and be a team player
  • With a valid driver’s license     

Candidate Requirements

Responsibilities:

DATA CAPTURING & ANALYTICS

  • Capture daily production data from shop floor systems, logs and reports
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all production records
  • Maintain production databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools
  • Verify data integrity and resolve discrepancies with production personnel
  • Compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports
  • Report on performance against production targets, productivity metrics and efficiency indicators
  • Provide structured reporting dashboards for management review
  • Analyse production trends and identify deviations from targets
  • Highlight underperformance at product, raw material, individual, machine and department level
  • Provide actionable insights to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and report on wastage across products, raw materials, individuals, machines and departments
  • Track scrap rates, rework and material losses
  • Support root cause analysis of excessive waste
  • Record and analyse machine downtime, planned maintenance and breakdown incidents
  • Track downtime reasons and durations
  • Identify recurring issues and trends impacting production
  • Support implementation of production KPIs and performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate production records
  • Improve efficiency through data‑driven insights
  • Maintain live data availability
  • Provide BEST recommendations for improvements

INVENTORY RECORDS

  • Perform periodic stock counts of raw materials and consumables
  • Investigate stock variances within 48 hours
  • Complete Non‑Conformance forms for all issues within 48 hours
  • Maintain accuracy of raw material and consumable stock records at all times
  • Place requisitions for raw materials and consumables required for each works order
  • Maintain accurate stock records
  • Ensure timely reporting and correction of errors
  • Prevent production downtime through proactive stock management

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the Production area
  • Record temperature and humidity readings daily and report weekly or when breaches occur
  • Enforce Health & Safety principles including no cellphones in Production, correct PPE and adherence to demarcations
  • Report all Health & Safety incidents timeously
  • Manage safe disposal of expired and hazardous stock through approved vendors
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment
  • Maintain zero Health & Safety incidents

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain product quality and safety throughout the production process
  • Document NCAs and ARs were required
  • Improve processes and policies to support organisational goals
  • Implement departmental procedures and monitor adherence
  • Maintain zero audit findings
  • Ensure complaints are raised and closed timeously
  • Ensure NCAs are raised and closed timeously
  • Support continuous improvement through BEST recommendations

TRAINING

  • Conduct skills assessments
  • Preparing training and skills plans
  • Record all training
  • Maintain skilled, efficient and knowledgeable staff
  • Ensure training information is updated at all times
  • Maintain effective communication
