About the Role

Intervid Africa, an established division of United Business Solutions, is a leading CCTV, Access Control and T&A solutions provider, based in South Africa. We are expanding our team in KwaZulu-Natal and we are looking for an experienced Senior Technician to anchor our technical capability on the ground in Durban.

This is not a clipboard-carrying supervisor role. You will be the most technically capable person on every site you walk onto — commissioning AI-driven CCTV pipelines, integrating access control with T&A, troubleshooting under pressure, and lifting the standard of every installation that goes out under our name in the region. You will work closely with the projects and sales teams, and report directly to the National Sales Manager.

Your Key Duties

• Lead end-to-end installation, commissioning, and handover of CCTV, Access Control and Time & Attendance solutions for major South African enterprises
• Configure and integrate camera networks, recorders, AI analytics, biometric readers, controllers, and T&A software into clean, well-documented systems
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults across IP networks, power, cabling, and software — first-time-right, with proper root-cause analysis
• Liaise directly with customers in a way that builds trust: explain what’s possible, what isn’t, and what you recommend
• Supervise and develop junior technicians on site — set the bar high, then hold it there.
• Carry the standard on every job: clean cable runs, proper labelling, accurate as-builts, on-time sign-off
• Feed back to the projects and sales teams on customer needs, competitive activity, and product opportunities you see in the field
• Maintain and update job records, snags, and sign-off documentation in our systems daily
