Our Operator: Hand Tool role plays an important part in the Woodwork Department by preparing solid timber furniture for the next stage of production through careful preparation work and attention to detail.
We are looking for a practical, hardworking individual who enjoys working with their hands and is committed to maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency within a production environment. This role is ideal for someone who is willing to learn, works carefully, and takes pride in producing quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fill holes, cracks, and open joints in solid timber furniture
• Use small hand tools safely and correctly during preparation processes
• Prepare furniture pieces according to production and quality requirements
• Inspect workpieces for defects, gaps, cracks, or areas requiring attention
• Ensure preparation work is completed neatly, accurately, and efficiently
• Handle timber furniture and materials carefully to avoid damage
• Follow instructions from the line manager and production team
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness within the work area
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Report quality concerns, unsafe conditions, or tool issues to the supervisor
• Perform ad hoc duties as required by the line manager
Skills and Requirements:
• Practical hand skills and ability to work with small hand tools
• Attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Pro-active working attitude
• Safety conscious and able to follow procedures
• Ability to work carefully and consistently in a production environment
• Willingness to be flexible in duties when required
Minimum Requirements:
• Previous experience in woodwork, furniture manufacturing, hand tool work, or a similar production environment advantageous
• Basic understanding of safety and PPE requirements
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours when required
